Following this unusual announcement, the entire card has been cancelled, including the WBA interim super-flyweight title bout between David Jimenez and Ayumu Sano, the WBA interim featherweight title bout between Luis Nunez and Kyonosuke Kameda, and the WBA flyweight eliminator between Hasanboy Dusmatov and Joel Contreras.

According to the organisers, “Due to recent rapid shifts in the economic climate and a higher-than-anticipated surge in local promotional and staging costs, it has become extremely difficult to maintain the initial business plan.” Despite exploring financing options to salvage the event, they stated, “We concluded that further progression would compromise our ability to ensure proper purse payments to the fighters and guarantee a safe, high-quality event for the fans, leading us to this bitter decision.”

The event director offered an apology, stating, “We deeply apologise for failing to meet the expectations of the fans and the fighters who entrusted us with their dreams,” adding that they intend to promptly address all affected parties. The statement further noted, “Our risk assessment and financial planning for a large-scale overseas event were naive,” and concluded, “We will fundamentally restructure our management system. Given the extreme gravity of our responsibility in this matter, we will announce necessary disciplinary actions as soon as they are finalised.”

Kameda, originally scheduled to contest the WBA Gold title against Robledo, has secured a challenge for the interim championship. Additional bouts are to be announced on the official website. The event will be broadcast live via the SAIKOULUSH OFFICIAL YouTube channel.

Last year, Kameda faced elite international opposition, including Luis Nery in Mexico, Alan Picasso in the U.S., and John Riel Casimero in Kyrgyzstan. While he suffered defeats against Nery and Picasso, he neutralized Casimero’s power to secure a decision victory.

At the press conference, Kameda remarked, “Having faced big names in my last three bouts, this opponent is a step down. I intend to go in, trade shots, and score a knockout to demonstrate my true ability.” Having opted out of a domestic super featherweight tournament with a 10 million yen prize in favor of pursuing a path toward a world title, Kameda remains ambitious about a potential “cousin showdown” against former world champion Tomoki Kameda (TMK, 34). “Right now, I want to win this fight and then take on either Nery or Tomoki,” he stated.

“SAIKOULUSH” is a series of events promoted by former three-division world champion Koki Kameda, scheduled to be held in Kyrgyzstan over three consecutive days starting April 17. Kyonosuke will feature in the opening event, SAIKOULUSH Vol. 5. The second day will be headlined by Nery vs. Casimero, while the final day will see WBA world super flyweight No. 11 ranked Ayumu Sano (22, LUSH) challenge interim champion David Jimenez (33, Costa Rica). The events will be streamed live on the SAIKOULUSH OFFICIAL YouTube channel.
