**OPBF Super Featherweight Title Match**
Yamato Hata (Teiken) def. Kim Tae-sun (South Korea) by TKO at 2:47 of Round 5

The contest opened with a cautious tactical exchange, as both fighters spent the initial rounds probing for openings without landing significant clean shots. The first notable action occurred in the third round when the southpaw Hata found the range with his left hand, pinning Kim in the blue corner and unleashing a flurry of combinations. Mindful of the threat posed by Kim’s right hand, Hata maintained a disciplined approach rather than over-committing. The pattern repeated in the fourth, with Hata landing further left hands and trapping his opponent in the corner, though he retreated with seconds remaining to see out the round.

The finish came in the fifth. Hata dropped Kim with a right hook. Upon the resumption of action, Hata pressed the attack and scored a second knockdown with another right hook, prompting the referee to intervene and halt the contest immediately.

In his post-fight interview, Hata, who moves to 18-2-1 (17 KOs), expressed gratitude for his team’s support and admitted he was fighting back tears. Kim, now 13-4-2 (9 KOs), suffered the defeat.

WBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight Title Match Shumpei Ohata (Suruga Manji) def. Reo Saito (Teiken) by TKO at 1:11 of Round 7

Seven months removed from a bout that earned “Fight of the Year” honors in Japan, champion Reo Saito brought his characteristic high-pressure style to the ring. Challenger Shumpei Ohata met the challenge head-on, engaging in fierce exchanges at close quarters from the opening bell.

Both fighters displayed high punch volume throughout the contest, trading sharp uppercuts and heavy rights in the center of the ring. While the action was largely back-and-forth, Ohata managed to land the more impactful blows toward the end of the fourth and fifth rounds.

The seesaw battle reached its climax in the seventh. After an intense exchange, Ohata moved to the ropes—a tactical lure intended to force an opening. As Saito pressed in, Ohata landed a decisive right hand near Saito’s left eye. The champion faltered and turned away, appearing to struggle with an eye injury. Ohata followed up with further offense, prompting the referee to step in and stop the fight.

With this victory, Ohata improves his record to 8-1 (5 KOs), securing his first major title. Saito, failing in his first defense, drops to 7-2 (7 KOs).
