Yuga Fujiki (18), a highly touted amateur prospect who has turned professional under the Ohashi Gym banner, will undergo his public professional licensing test on April 13 at Korakuen Hall. The Ohashi Gym announced on the 8th that the sparring partner for the practical portion of the test will be Maiku Hashimoto (DANGAN), the reigning Japan Youth lightweight champion and the 9th-ranked contender in the division.

Fujiki, who boasts an unblemished record of 49 victories in the amateur ranks, announced his transition to the professional circuit at a press conference held in Yokohama on February 27. During the event, Ohashi Gym chairman Hideyuki Ohashi officially bestowed upon him the moniker, “The King.”
The test will take place as part of the “Lemino BOXING Phoenix Battle 154” card promoted by Ohashi Gym. The event is headlined by the IBF world light flyweight title bout between champion Tanonchai Simsee and Sergio Mendoza. The chief support features the comeback bout of Masanori Rikiishi (Ohashi), with Fujiki’s public test scheduled to precede the main event.
