The contest between the two southpaws opened with a technical engagement, as both fighters established their respective lead right jabs. While Yuba made an initial impression with his proactive offense, Nogami countered effectively with well-timed straight shots to the body, gradually closing the distance against his taller opponent.
Demonstrating tactical discipline, Yuba avoided the pitfall of relying solely on heavy single punches, instead maintaining his movement while utilizing a busy right jab to vary his targets. In the fourth round, he landed a sharp counter left followed by a solid left hook to the body.
Nogami maintained his composure throughout the bout. In the fifth round, he scored a knockdown by landing a clean left cross to the jaw of Yuba. The impact left Yuba severely shaken, prompting his corner to momentarily ascend the ring apron; however, the action was permitted to resume. Immediately following the restart, a simultaneous exchange of left hands sent Yuba down for a second time, forcing referee Terayama to wave an end to the contest.
The victory marks the second consecutive stoppage win for Nogami since suffering an eighth-round TKO defeat to David Semujju (Chunichi) in August last year, improving his professional record to 6 wins (4 KOs) and 1 loss. Yuba, who has now suffered back-to-back defeats, moves to 13 wins (8 KOs), 6 losses, and 2 draws.
