Former World Boxing Organization Latin America super lightweight champion Jean Carlos Torres of Puerto Rico scored two knockdowns en route to an eight-round unanimous decision over former Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation welterweight champion Riku Nagahama of Neyagawa Ishida Boxing Club on Aug. 11 in Osaka.
The 33-year-old Torres scored a knockdown in the second round with an overhand right and added another in the following stanza with a right uppercut in the super welterweight fight held as part of ‘’3150 FIGHT Vol.6’’ at EDION Arena Osaka.
While the 31-year-old Nagahara rallied momentarily, Torres fended off Nagahama’s attack.
With the win, Torres improved his record to 21 wins, including 16 knockouts, against a loss. For his part, Nagahama dropped to a 13-4-1 win-loss-draw tally with four KOs.
