Juiki Tatsuyoshi of Osaka Teiken Boxing Gym, a son of former legendary World Boxing Council bantamweight champion Joichiro Tatsuyoshi, will face 11th-ranked Japanese bantamweight Yuki Yonaha of Shinsei Boxing Gym in a super bantamweight eight-round fight on Nov. 15 at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena, organizers said on Sept. 27.
The fight will serve as one of the undercards for WBC bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym’s first title defense against sixth-ranked Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines and top-ranked World Boxing Association flyweight Seigo ‘’Yuri’ Akui of Kurashiki Moriyasu Boxing Gym’s challenge to champion Artem Dalakian of Ukraine for the latter’s title.
The 27-year-old Tatsuyoshi said at the day’s joint press conference in Tokyo, ‘’Since I have confidence in fistfights, I want to get into the best fistfight ever at the biggest stage.’’
Tatsuyoshi brilliantly returned to the ring last month after the hiatus of two years and nine months due partly to injuries he suffered during training and the rampant COVID-19 coronavirus catastrophe.
Tatsuyoshi is undefeated in his 15 bouts, including 10 knockouts and a draw, while the 32-year-old Yonaha has a 13-5-1 win-loss draw tally with eight KOs. Yonaha dropped a one-sided decision to highly touted Kickboxer-turned Tenshin Nasukawa of Teiken Boxing Gym last April.
