Former World Boxing Organization super featherweight champion Masayuki Ito of Yokohama Hikari Boxing Gym said in his Instagram on March 1 that he will continue his active career, thereby shrugging off his loss to Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super featherweight champion Hironori Mishiro of Watanabe Boxing Gym in a highly touted lightweight nontitle bout on last Dec. 26.
The 30-year-old Ito, who made a comeback in September 2019 after losing his world title in his second title defense four months earlier, said he cannot withstand his loss to Mishiro, 26, would be his last fight although he had contemplated his course of action a little bit. Ito dropped a 10-round majority decision to Mishiro.
