WBC/WBO super bantamweight champ Fulton arrives in Tokyo to defend titles against ‘Monster’ Inoue

Jul 12, 2023 9:56 am

World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton of the United States arrived in Japan on July 11 to defend his title against former undisputed world bantamweight champion Naoya ‘’the Monster’’ Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym on July 25.

The scheduled 12-round title fight, which was postponed from the initially scheduled May 7 due to Inoue’s fist injuries during training in early March, will be held at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena.

It is the 28-year-old Fulton’s first overseas fight as a professional boxer, although he fought outside the U.S. during the amateur era.

The undefeated Fulton has 21 straight wins, including eight knockouts. Inoue, 30, is also undefeated in his 24 professional bouts, including 21 KOs.
