EJBA to ask JBC to allow class C boxers in rookie king finals to take class B license tests

Jul 21, 2022 9:25 am

The East Japan Boxing Association decided at its board meeting in Tokyo on July 20 that it would ask Japan Boxing Commission to allow class C license boxers who have advanced into the EJBA rookie king finals to take class B license tests irrespective of the results in the finals.

While at least four wins are required for a class C license boxer to get the class B license at present, the EJBA thinks it advisable for a boxer capable of fighting in the final to take the test (if admitted in the test, the boxer can fight a six-round match from hitherto only a four-round bout).

The EJBA added, however, the request will be applied to boxers only in the East Japan region.
