Two hundred South Korean kids took part in the sparring competition by modeling after the Japanese event on Nov. 20, the final day of the two-day event held at Gangnam Fashion Event Center Hall in the capital city, according to Ohashi Boxing Promotion, which promoted the event in cooperation with Seoul’s Won Promotions.

On the preceding day, the South Korean middleweight, super welterweight and lightweight title matches were held along with 11 four-round bouts in the event dubbed ‘’Phoenix Battle in Seoul.’’

The event was held to vivify the otherwise-subdued South Korean boxing world and is expected to be continued in the next year onwards with Japanese boxers expected to take part.
