The World Boxing Organization’s Asia-Pacific female bantamweight champion Terumi Nuki of Shinsei Boxing Gym pounded out an eight-round unanimous decision over   Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation female super bantamweight champion Makoto Kikuchi of Ishikawa Boxing Gym Tachikawa to retain her title on June 9 in Tokyo.

All three judges scored the fight 78-74 in favor of Nuki. It was the 35-year-old Nuki’s first successful defense of the title she captured last January.

Fighting at the Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tachikawa on the outskirts of Tokyo, Nuki moved forward from the start by landing chiefly left hooks to the left-handed Kikuchi and the ended the fight on top. There were no knockdowns in the fight.

With the victory, Nuki improved her record to 15 wins, including 10 knockouts, against five losses, while the 37-year-old Kikuchi, a former amateur champion, fell to a 4-2 win-loss tally with a KO.
