Second-ranked Homura Fujita of Misako Boxing Gym knocked out top-ranked Cristiano Aoqui of Kadoebi Boxing Gym in the second round and won the vacant Japanese super lightweight title on Apr. 26 in Tokyo.
The title was left vacant by Andy Hiraoka of Ohashi Boxing Gym.
The end of the scheduled 10-round match at Korakuen Hall cam 3 minutes and eight seconds into the round when the 28-year-old Fujita sent Aoqui, 34, on the seat of his trunks with a right hook to the head. While Aoqui struggled to his feet, the referee counted him out because he was wobbling.
With the victory, Fujita improved his record to 10 wins, including eight KOs, against a loss. For his part, Aoqui fell to a 16-10-2 win-loss draw tally with 11 KOs.
The fight was part of the Lemino BOXING PHOENIX BATTLE 99.
