‘Monster’ Inoue concentrates on video of WBC/WBO super bantamweight champ Fulton

Feb 22, 2023 22:45 pm

Naoya ‘’the Monster’’ Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym, MVP for 2022 for a record sixth time overall, said at the awards ceremony at a Tokyo hotel on Feb. 22 he is concentrating on his likely challenge to World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton of the United States for the latter’s titles in May.

Inoue, a former undisputed world bantamweight champion, commented, ‘’The only thing I am doing now is to watch the video of Fulton time and time again. I think we can formally announce the fight (with Fulton) shortly.’’

While his younger brother Takuma will face Liborio Solis of Venezuela for the vacant WBA bantamweight title on Apr. 8 at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, the Monster said, ‘’I think he will win the title without fail so that he can give support to me for my fight.’’
