WBA bantamweight champ Takuma Inoue gets rib injury, Nov. 15 fight with Ancajas put off

  The planned title fight between World Boxing Association bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym and sixth-ranked challenger Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines on Nov. 15 in Tokyo will be postponed as Inoue suffered cracked ribs on his left side during his recent sparring, Teiken Promotions Inc. said on Oct. 28.

  According to the promotions, some four weeks will be required for the injured part to heal in accordance with a doctor’s diagnosis.

  The scheduled 12-round fight at Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena will be rescheduled, along with the WBA flyweight title fight between champion Artem Dalakian of Ukraine and top-ranked challenger Seigo ‘’Yuri’’ Akui of Kurashiki Moriyasu Boxing Gym as the chief supporting card and other fights.   

Hideyuki Ohashi of Ohashi gym issue a statement, ‘’We are really sorry for the postponement of the fight not only for fans expecting of the fight but also for Mr. Ancajas and his team as well as for the other boxers and their parties concerned. We at the gym will do our best to have him make a complete recovery from the injury. We feel really sorry.’’
