Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super lightweight champion Rikki Naito of E&J Cassius Boxing Gym will cancel his planned title defense against 11th-ranked Koichi Aso of Misako Boxing Gym on Sept. 18 at Tokyo’s Korakuen Hall because Naito has just recently tested positive for COVID-19, organizers said on Aug. 20.

While there are no significant symptoms, the 30-year-old Naito is resting at a hotel at the request of a public healthcare center. The 12-round fight will be rescheduled after Naito’s recovery, according to the organizers.
