Yoshida to defend WBO female super flyweight title against Ozawa on May 30 in Tokyo

Mar 10, 2022 10:58 am

World Boxing Organization world female super flyweight champion Miyo Yoshida of Misako Boxing Gym will defend her title against former Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation super flyweight ruler Tamao Ozawa of Futur Boxing Gym on May 30 in Tokyo, according to the Misako gym.

It will be the 33-year-old Yoshida’s first defense of the title she captured from Tomoko Okuda of Mitsuki Boxing Gym in a direct rematch last June. Yoshida, known as a single fighting mother, has a record of 15 wins against two losses.

For her part, it will be the 36-year-old Ozawa’s third attempt at a world title. She last fought in April 2019. She has a 16-5 win-loss record with six knockouts.

The scheduled 10-rounder will be held at Korakuen Hall.
