Toshiki Shimomachi, ranked IBF No. 6 and WBC No. 13, defeated Reiya Abe, ranked WBC No. 7, IBF No. 8, and WBO No. 14, with scores of 96-94, 96-94, and 95-95. With this win, Toshiki Shimomachi proved his capability to compete in the featherweight division.

The southpaw encounter opened in a measured fashion, with Reiya Abe utilizing upper-body fluidity to navigate the ring while Toshiki Shimomachi looked to counter. Both fighters displayed sophisticated defensive maneuvers, resulting in a cagey opening where clean scoring blows were scarce.

Reiya Abe continued to press the action with rapid entries and exits, landing an occasional lunging left. However, Toshiki Shimomachi utilized his reach effectively, repelling the attacks with long right jabs, straight lefts, and uppercuts. Both men maintained a high technical standard until the final bell.
