Tsukimi Namiki of the Physical Training School, the winner of the women’s flyweight bronze medalist at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, was recently found to have refrained from taking part in the ongoing All-Japan Amateur Boxing Championships.
While she is said to have suffered some kind of an injury, certain boxing sources said the fact that she lost in September’s Asian Games in China’s Hangzhou was responsible for her decision. The games doubled as the preliminary round of the Asia Continental Stage of next year’s Paris Olympics.
The 25-year-old Namiki posted on X, formerly called Twitter, to the effect that she will give much thought to boxing which she loves very much. But she thought she would give her full attention to the sport as a competitor.
