Kickboxer-turned Tenshin Nasukawa of Teiken Boxing Gym displayed his first sparring of the year at his Teiken Boxing Gym on Jan. 4 in preparation for his third professional bout on Jan. 23 in Osaka, according to the gym.
The 25-year-old Nasukawa, who is expected to face Luis Robles of Mexico, ranked 14th both by the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization, at EDION Arena Osaka, did four rounds of sparring with former World Boxing Council youth bantamweight champion Carlos Norberto Lopez and Jesus Ramirez Rubio, both of Mexico.
After the sparring Nasukawa, currently ranked seventh in the Japanese super bantamweight division, quoted by the gym as saying, ‘’I wanted to try my power which I think I have built up during my training. I have also built up my fighting position so that I can withstand in jostling. I think I am expecting a lot from myself. ‘’
The left-handed Nasukawa has won in his two straight bouts by decision since turning pro last April. The scheduled eight-rounder is part of Prime Video Presents Live Boxing 6.
