Jul 17, 2024 17:01 pm

World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association light flyweight champion Kenshiro Teraji of B.M.B. Boxing Gym relinquished his titles as of July 15 and will move up to the flyweight division, the gym and Misako Boxing Gym said on July 17.

The 32-year-old Teraji issued a statement to the effect, ‘’I decided to move up to the flyweight division and aim at unifying the titles of the four sanctioning bodies. Please look forward to watching the new Kenshiro Teraji as I am building up my body.’’

Teraji successfully defended the WBC light flyweight title four times and the WBA crown three times. Teraji, who has a record of 23 wins, including 14 knockouts, against a loss, wanted to have another title unification fight only to fail in negotiations.
