Undisputed world super bantamweight champion Naoya ‘’the Monster’’ Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym and his stablemates — World Boxing Organization bantamweight champion Yoshiki Takei, World Boxing Association’s seventh-ranked super lightweight Andy Hiraoka, Inoue’s younger brother and WBA bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue and a few others — ended an intensive training camp at the gym on July 20, the gym said on July 21.
Inoue will defend the titles against the WBO’s second-ranked super bantamweight TJ Doheny of Ireland on Sept. 3 at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, while Takei will make his first defense of the title he won in May against top-ranked WBO bantamweight Daigo Higa of Shisei Boxing Gym as the chief supporting card for Inoue’s title defense.
Hiraoka will face the WBA’s interim super lightweight champion Ismael Barroso of Venezuela in a 12-round fight as a preliminary bout for the WBA super lightweight champion.
Takuma Inoue, who retained the title for the second time in May by decisioning Sho Ishida of Ioka Boxing Gym, will not enter the Sept. 3 event.
