World Boxing Association ‘’super’’ and International Boxing Federation bantamweight champion Naoya ‘’Monster’’ Inoue of Ohashi Boxing Gym, unleashing devastating body shots throughout, stopped the IBF’s No.1-ranked Michael Dasmarinas of the Philippines in the third round and retained his titles on June 19 (June 20 Japan time) in Las Vegas.

The technical knockout of the scheduled 12-rounder at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada, came 2 minutes and 45 seconds into the third round when the 28-year-old Inoue decked his southpaw opponent with a wicked left hook to the body.

While Dasmarinas, also, 28, wobbled to his feet, Inoue swarmed all over him and landed a vicious left hook to the body, sending his challenger to the canvas, wherein the referee waved off the fight.
It was Inoue’s fifth successful defense of the WBA title and his third of the IBF crown.

With the victory, Inoue extended his unbeaten streak to 21, including 18 KOs, while Dasmarinas fell to a 30-3-1 win-loss-draw record with 20 KOs.

From the opening bell, Inoue countered left hooks over Dasmarinas’ right jabs and increased his press while Dasmarinas tried to move side to side.

In the second round, while Dasmarinas threw right jabs and straight lefts, Inoue evaded them and landed a right uppercut and a left hook to the body, which caused his opponent to collapse to his knee.
While Inoue landed a pair of left hooks to the body, Dasmarinas managed to sustain himself and was saved by the bell.

In the third round, Inoue moved forward further, putting his foe against the ropes and scored two knockdowns.
