World Boxing Association ‘’super’’ and International Boxing Federation middleweight champion Gennadiy Gennadyevich Golovkin of Kazakhstan met Japan Sports Agency commissioner Koji Murofush at a Tokyo hotel where Golovkin, popularly known as GGG, was staying, according to Teiken Boxing Gym.

The gym said it was Murofushi who wanted to meet Golovkin, 40, as both took part in the 2004 Athens Olympics. The 47-year-old Murofushi won the gold medal in the hammer throw event while Golovkin captured the silver medal in the middleweight division at the Games.

Golovkin was enjoying his stay in Japan after stopping Murata in the ninth round to capture the WBA middleweight ‘’super’’ championship title on Apr. 9 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama Prefecture.

Golovkin was lending his ear attentively to Murofushi’s unique training method for about 30 minutes in the afternoon, according to the gym. Golovkin and his entourage left Japan for Los Angeles where his training site exists in that evening.
