On the 4th, a press conference was held in Osaka for ‘3150 FIGHT 11’ (23 September, Sumiyoshi Ward Community Centre, Osaka City), at which it was announced that Ayumu Sano (23), ranked third in Japan’s super-flyweight division, has joined the Kameda Gym, and details of his next bout were revealed. Sano (11 wins, 5 KOs, 1 defeat) will face Christian Regane (Philippines – 8 wins, 5 KOs, 4 defeats, 3 draws) in an 8-round bantamweight bout.

Sano was originally affiliated with LUSH Gym, but as the gym suspended operations, he has moved to Kameda Gym, run by Koki Kameda, who has promoted his fights to date. Given that a bout against WBA interim super-flyweight champion Davi Jiménez (Costa Rica) in Kyrgyzstan, scheduled for April and May this year, was ultimately cancelled after LUSH, the company responsible for the event’s organisation, withdrew from the venture, he expressed his relief, saying, ‘I am truly delighted that this fight is going ahead.’
Looking ahead, he stated: “I want to build a path to the world stage whilst complying with the rule that, to compete in a world title match in Japan, I must first hold a Japanese or Oriental-Pacific title.” Mr Kameda added: “It’s different from him competing as a promoted fighter. Now that he is a member of the gym, we intend to support him thoroughly, taking full responsibility for his contracts and other aspects of his career.”
On the day, a total of four bouts will take place, headlined by a 10-round featherweight bout (changed from the originally scheduled 8 rounds) between Kyonosuke Kameda (MR) and Sebastián Hernández (Mexico). The Sano v Regané bout will be the second fight on the card. All bouts are scheduled to be broadcast live and free of charge on ABEMA.
