World Boxing Organization super flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka of Shisei Boxing Gym, who retained his title for the third time on Sept. 1 in Tokyo with a close but unanimous decision over Francisco Rodriguez Jr. of Mexico, held a press conference online on Sept. 2 and said he wants to face International Boxing Federation kingpin Jerwin Ancajas of the Philippines within this year to unify the titles.
According to Ioka’s plan, if he can beat Ancajas, that will set the stage for Ioka to face the winner of World Boxing Association super flyweight super champion Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico and former many-time world champion Roman ‘’Chocolatito’’ Gonzales of Nicaragua on Oct. 16 in the United States.
Touching on the Sept. 1 fight with Rodriguez, Ioka said, ‘’Though I am not satisfied with the content of the fight at all. The bottom line is I was able to do the fight and won it.’’ Photo by Shisei gym
