Oguni (24 wins, 9 KOs, 4 losses, 3 draws), whose April victory over Marlon Tapales (Philippines) is still fresh in everyone’s memory, is set to face the young Filipino fighter Santisima (13 wins, 7 KOs, 2 losses). Now that he must defend the world ranking he earned by defeating Tapales, Oguni remained focused, saying, “I understand how Tapales felt.”
One of Santissima’s losses came two years ago, when he was knocked out in the seventh round by Subaru Murata (then with Teiken). He just scored a first-round knockout victory over Richard Pumikipik (Futur) in Nagoya on the 19th of this month. As TB Promotion President Ito stated, “I hope this will serve as a warm-up fight for a world title bout [for Oguni],” making this a must-win fight for the veteran as he makes his long-awaited return to the world title stage.

In the super welterweight unification bout, Toyoshima (WBO-AP champion) and Midorikawa (OPBF champion) will face off with their respective belts on the line. Toyoshima, who won the Japanese, OPBF, and WBO-AP titles at welterweight and went on to become the Japanese and WBO-AP champion after moving up to super welterweight, is aiming to win three titles across two weight classes.
While aware of this record, Toyoshima is determined to win, stating, “Guys like Ennis are incredible, but I want to go global, so I can’t afford to lose.” Meanwhile, Midorikawa, fighting his second title defense, spoke with conviction: “If I can beat this strong opponent, I’ll have achieved my goal.” Toyoshima’s record stands at 23 wins (13 KOs), 3 losses, and 1 draw, while Midorikawa’s is 6 wins (4 KOs).

In the middleweight bout, Japanese champion Takesako (19 wins, 15 KOs, 3 losses, 1 draw) will face rising star Kawabuchi (4 wins, 3 KOs). The vacant WBO-AP title will also be on the line in this bout. Having previously missed out on the WBO-AP title, Takasako is determined to win it this time and secure a spot in the world rankings. “I also want to show a bit more of my own style in the way I fight,” he said, aiming for his first knockout victory in about three years. His opponent, Kawabuchi, is a promising southpaw despite his limited experience.

The Japanese Light Flyweight title bout features new champion Kameyama (13 wins, 3 KOs, 8 losses, 2 draws) against Ohashi (10 wins, 7 KOs, 6 losses, 1 draw), who is making his second title challenge. Kameyama said, “I don’t feel any pressure about my first title defense. I’m training just as I always have to beat Ohashi,” while Ohashi vowed, “I’m going to bring the belt back to the gym no matter what.” Both fighters are determined to win.
The event will be streamed live on U-NEXT.
