Jun 11, 2024 15:32 pm

Former two-division female world champion Tenkai Tsunami of Yamaki Boxing Gym pounded out a 10-round unanimous decision over former World Boxing Council light flyweight champion Siriporn Taweesuk of Thailand on June 10 in Bangkok and captured the vacant WBC silver minimumweight title.

It was the 39-year-old Tsunami’s fourth straight victory since losing her World Boxing Organization light flyweight crown to Seniesa Estrada of the United States in July 2021.

With the victory at the capital city’s Wat Pak Bo School in the district of Suan Luan, Tsunami, who was also a former World Boxing Association super flyweight champion, improved her record to 32 wins, including 19 KOs, against 13 losses and a draw. For her part, the 41-year-old Siriporn fell to a 43-6 win-loss tally with 25 KOs.
