Six pro boxing matches were held in Tokyo amid paid attendance, the first charged boxing fights in eastern Japan in about five months.
Japanese pro boxing bouts were put on hold after late February matches in Tokyo due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
While the capacity of the Arena Tachikawa Tachii was 3,200, a total of 806 spectators came to see the bouts headed by an eight-round fight between third-ranked Japanese minimumweight Hizuki Saso and Yuni Takada, which ended in a draw.
Strict security measures were employed in accordance with guidelines set by boxing officials as only every other toilet was allowed to be used, and the spectators had to leave the arena with time lag after the event ended to avoid cluster outbreaks, etc.
